I started paying closer attention to grocery math out of necessity, then out of habit. Smopper grew from the same place a lot of household tools do: I wanted one calm screen that answered "is this actually a deal" without opening five apps.

When I write here, I try to be specific about what we know, what we are still validating, and what you should double-check in your own store. Outside of work I am usually outside, on skis when the snow cooperates, or in the kitchen testing whether the cheaper ingredient was worth it.
